Partners

Since 1983, SCAN has worked effectively to enhance the quality and equality of free speech, programming, and production participation within its partnership groups to ensure on-going diversity of thought, opinions, and ideas and to work collaboratively with each other outside of the majority mainstream media communities and institutions.

Who are SCAN Partners?

When two or more groups join forces to work together defines the focus of SCAN Partners. What can SCAN offer to them? What can SCAN become owing to their involvement? Partners enable and help SCAN achieve its mission, vision, and goals with other free speech organizations, civic groups, non-profit organizations, colleges and universities who contribute a minimum of $4,000 and upwards of $14,000 annually to be designated as a SCAN partner.

Partners are the backbone of the future of SCAN.

Benefits of Partnership

As a Partner you will receive the benefits of having your organizational programming featured on SCAN once a month, weekly for one year, and/or for a half of year which is defined as 26 weeks. SCAN’s highly qualified personnel will assist you with your production needs. They will provide your organization services as videographers to include pre-production and post-production services with script assistance, storyboarding, editing, lighting, and sound.

Community partners benefit from SCAN in other ways as well. Through Partnerships, organizations have the ability to provide ready-to-air programming to SCAN for TV broadcast and streaming on SCAN’s website. Furthermore, partners can have a limited number of students, board, and staff members attend SCAN’s on going classes and trainings on Media Literacy and Garage Band. Partners who pay the $14,000 annual fee are entitled to have two people attend the five week Production Process classes.

All of SCAN’s partners are able to have their logo featured on SCAN’s public relations and marketing pieces as a partner.

SCAN’s Longest Community Partnership is Alive and Well!
The American Civil Liberties Union Washington chapter and SCAN TV have many similarities so it was only natural that a strong partnership would develop between the two. The central role of the ACLU is guardian of liberties in the United States such as freedom of speech and freedom of press. SCAN exists to provide free speech programming to the citizens of King County and Seattle.
Seeing the similarities in values, SCAN approached the ACLU in 1992 offering the organization access to studios and airtime, providing a platform for a civil liberties discussion. The result was Speaking of Freedom, a television show which has now been running for 17 years.
